I can't figure out how to use the tools to tell if the drive is spinning down. If a BIOS update is available, download and install the update according to the instructions on the download page. If lock-ups occur again, continue to the next section to remove the most recently downloaded software update. Or, consistent with Zero3's suggestion below, maybe the constant activity during recording prevents the drive from spinning down. check my blog

everytime i turn my computer on this 'freeze' occurs. Turn on the computer. suggestions welcome! Look for processes that are causing the lock-up.
