2tb Usb Hdd Not Staying Connected
I followed all above suggestions. How can I even fairly address that?So people turn to the most expensive device and put the onus on that company to "fix it". Personally I have no respect for Seagate external drives. The hard drive shows up in the disk utility.

my WD element 2tb hard drive fell down, it just fell from the table and there are no scratches or any particles in hard disk are moving .. I have seen a lot of external drives where it is the enclosure itself that has gone bad (there is a small circuit board in there). but when this is all pluged in my light blinks and thats all that happends .. - When your USB port stopped working, did you just plug your device into another one?

Now I trayed to plug my External HD in an other Computer vith Win Vista, an the HD works. External Hard Drive Not Showing Up Mac Network & Sharing Problem staying connected to the internet.I can connect to the internet and browse but after anywhere from a minute to ten minutes my connection speed drops or i Theres a lot out there.
Updated to W10, same issue.

I have tried all of the answers 'jack4rall' had wrote, and thank you for those, but it still does not work for my hard drive. Since the drive was hardly used and was never dropped or abused, I tried another 12 VDC power supply from my WD drive. It might be the voltage adapter. Drives have been returned as they were unusable. #57 | Written by stathis about 3 years ago. There seems to be some spinning of the HD when it is plugged in, but then it slows down to silence.... I'm more than happy to assist you in getting the issue resolved.

WD works ok on any other notebook with Win 10 ou Win 7…. Better luck to you! all of them with Windows 7, both 32 and 64 bits. Thanks again for great advice Les.
Not for me. Tried this and 'Hey Presto' first time! Following this process should solve most of the disk recognition issues you’ll encounter. However because my external hard drive happened to be sitting in front of my DVD drive, I unplugged it so that I could put in the Windows 7 DVD.
Instead of Windows booting up, I simply got a black screen and nothing else. Searched all over.
