Laptop Will Not Recognise External HD


Reply Yegane November 20, 2015 at 8:17 pm hi, my hard drive is a sony usb 3-500gb external hard drive, when i plug this on my computer,both ports of usb 3 Device Manager. I didn't realise when I bought it that it wouldn't work straight away and it needed formatting and partitioning. Breakthrough. get redirected here

This has been happening since a few days, it used to connect earlier. When external harddrive does not show up in "diskmgmt.msc" or "devmgmt.msc". I have the exact same problem with my seagate expansion (2TB). Not visible, to either, or the hubby's computer?!

However, using this method you might try moving data in LINUX first or even just "mounting" the drive. Have you ever had to do any of the things here to fix an unrecognized external drive?
