When I watch the task-manager I can see alternating the processes "TrustedInstaller.exe" and "svchost.exe -k netsvcs" (which seems normal), but after a while only "svchost netsvcs" runs with CPU-load 99% and And I tried absolutely everything. Turns out my issue was the Windows Update problem on Windows 7. I did a Google search and found quite a few posts on this forum alone re: lag/high memory usage and for the last couple of days Ive been giving my system... I know it's nice to have certain things running in the background and or running in the tray, but it's such a horrible habit to get into. I wasn't initially able to run the troubleshooter because the first task it runs is to check for updates, and my system seemed to hang.
