Ill report back in a couple of days, or, as soon as, IF, it happens again. I think the ones that had updates that fixed this issue were the ACPIx64-based PC under the computer drop down and the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers especially the ICH ATA and SATA Also - my work system is a Windows 7 x64 system with Office 2010 installed plus Chrome and has no issues. I can't find the site I was on yet but I'll let you know if I find it.

The bad news is, chrome STILL CONSISTENTLY do the hard freeze when opening page with javascript/multimedia (not flash), eg. 'Nyan Cat' webpage (www.nyan.cat) before hitting 10 sec count. I think I might have fixed the problem I was facing with the regular freezes that kept increasing in frequency.
